This is the best instructional book I've read! Author Michael Miller takes a reader clearly and patiently through each step, never assuming anything, with illustrations for each step. He doesn't talk down to supposed "tech-limited" seniors on their way to dementia. Perk: the slightly larger print is a godsend.This is a book for anyone, young or older, who wants to quickly know how to use their IPad with the latest IOS 11.00. Mr. Miller covers everything. After trying to add email accounts, I hit a glitch, turned to Mr. Miller's book and YES, he had covered the problem. I quickly solved it down to his clear, uncomplicated directions. A GREAT BOOK!
As a volunteer, I provide free, iPhone/iPad training classes at a nearby senior, independent, residence facility. I have not only used this book as a reference for my class preparations, but it is one that I have recommended to attendees who wish to learn on their own or simply have available for reference. I'm new to anything Apple. I recently purchased an iPad. I've always been a windows person with the exception of a Samsung tablet. Thinking the operating system would be similar to the Samsung I went for the iPad. But, they were really nothing a like. So I was lost wandering the Apple iPad forest alone and afraid. This book is elementary, made for someone who has never touched an apple iPad...hence it is working great for me. I'd highly recommend it for newbies to Apple.
For my 90 yo Dad, think he is finding the iPad a bit much. His experience is total pc laptop. I perused when visiting. Liked it, a little elementary for me but a GOOD start!
We helped our older friends buy iPads -their first ever. So we bought them this book and it’s great, not just for seniors, but for anyone new to using an iPad. Easy to understand with pictures to show you. He is almost 80 and she is in her 70’s and they have never used any type of tablet, now they are googling everything, reading books, have their bible downloaded on their iPads. Researched their 2 week vacation on where to go and what to do. Last night for the first time they sent an iMessage to our iPhone. Next they are going to work on using the email with the iCloud account.We do need to tell you that we did set up their iPads for them to start with, however this book will help you do that too.You can also take your iPad to your local Apple store to help you, if you just want to get it set up and than use this book from that point on.

I bought this book in hopes of making the transition from Microsoft Windows experience to Apple I-pad experience. It has helped in some ways, but let me down big-time when it came to specific questions. For example, not a word about printing from my I-pad. It leaves out the crucial information about how to transform an Apple "page" product to being readable in Word (finally found out via Siri). In setting up my email, using a server that is not already configured on it, it said not a word about the &*()%^% screen that popped up asking me about my outgoing and incoming server information. There seem to be crucial holes in the information needed. This book may serve people who are simply completely new to computers, rather than those transitioning from Windows to Apple, but I wish I had known that before I spent my money. Sign me Frustrated.
