This book is wonderful for an anthropology/sociology course. I was required to purchase this text and I will reread it many times because of the level of detail. I think Roland's main arguments are well stated. In addition, the book is short, easy to read, and points the reader in the correct direction at all times (I.e. subheadings, convulsions at the end of every chapter,great reference dictionary in the back, etc). The reader is left with a wide understanding of the issue and an appropriate historical and current understanding of the conflict at hand.
It's getting outdated.
